Apple sauce is the traditional accompaniment for roast pork although it is also a delicious accompaniment to roast chicken.
4 apples
4 tbsp water
2 tbsp honey
1 tsp lemon juice
0.5 tsp cinnamon
0.5 tsp vanilla extract
1. Peel and dice the apples.
2. Heat the water, honey and lemon juice in a pan and add the apples.
3. Add the cinnamon and apple.
4. Simmer for 20-30 minutes until soft.
Makes six to eight servings.
Each serving has 60 calories.
