What you need:
1/4 cup pecans
1/4 cup blanched almonds
1/4 cup walnuts
3 tablespoons pistachios, shelled
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
1 teaspoon ground ginger
pinch of ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
What to do:
Bake pecans, almonds, walnuts, and pistachios in a preheated 350°F oven for 10 minutes.
Melt sugar in the water and cook until amber stage. Remove pan from heat, add nuts and spices. Toss well until thoroughly coated with sugar mixture. Pout nuts into an oiled baking tray.
Allow to cool completely before serving.
Serves 4. Prep Time 10 minutes. Cooking Time 10 to 15 minutes. Cooling Time 1 hour.
