Lentils is a great food for vegetarians because of its high content in protein (26%) and it is also recommended if you have a low hemoglobin because it contains a lot of iron.
Ingredients:
• 200g lentils
• 1 onion
• 1 carrot
• 1 parsley root
• garlic (1-2 cloves)
• 1 thyme thread
• 60 ml oil
• 2.5 l water
• salt
Step 1:
Wash the lentils carefully and start boiling it in all the water.
Step 2:
Meanwhile, clean, wash and grate the carrot and the parsley root.
Step 3:
When the water starts to boil, add the vegetables into the saucepan with the lentils and leave it on the stove until the lentils is softened enough (30 minutes).
Step 4:
In the end, add the crushed garlic, the thyme and season with salt. On top, sprinkle small chopped fresh parsley.
