Makes 30 bars. Preparation time 10 minutes. Baking time 35 minutes.
These home-made muesli bars are great for a morning snack or to take along as padkos on a game drive or hike.
cooking spray
1 tin (410 g) condensed milk
4 cups rolled oats
2 cups desiccated coconut
1 cup raw almonds
1 cup raw pumpkin seeds
1 cup mixed sunflower, flaxseed and sesame seeds
1/2 cup dried cranberries
• Preheat the oven to 160°C. Grease a 20x30cm baking tray with cooking spray.
• Gently heat the condensed milk in a big pot. Remove from the stove before it starts to boil. Combine all the dry ingredients and stir them into the warm condensed milk.
• Transfer the mixture to the baking tray and flatten with your hands, Bake for 30 -35 minutes, then set the tray aside and allow it to cool for 5 minutes.
• Slice into bars. Allow to cool further before lifting the bars and putting them in a container with a tight-fitting lid. You don't need to store them in the fridge.
