If you’re an ice cream fiend, this is an excellent homemade sorbetes for you!
What you need:
2 cups vanilla ice cream or any flavor of your choice
malted chocolate candy balls
1 bottle chocolate shell sauce (follow recipe below or you may opt to buy at the supermarket)
What to do:
Scoop ice cream into 3-inch balls. Press a malted chocolate candy ball into the center of each ice cream. Using a sheet of plastic wrap, reshape ice cream back into a ball.
Arrange on a tray lined with plastic wrap and freeze for 30 minutes or until firm.
Pour chocolate shell sauce into a large bowl. Remove plastic wrap from ice cream bar. Dip each frozen ball completely in the sauce and scoop out quickly using a fork.
Place in individual cups and allow to harden for a few seconds. Serve immediately.
How to make chocolate shell:
Simply melt 3 tablespoons vegetable oil with 1/2 cup chopped semisweet chocolate over sauce pan of simmering water. Stir frequently until you get a smooth, flowing sauce. Cool until just warm to the touch then use to dip your ice cream balls.
Serves 4. Preparation Time 10 minutes plus 30 minutes freezing time.
